15 Aug : Yconfidence!
basically its a volunteer program with beneficieries from bukit batok boys' home and MINDS. personally, ytd was my 1st session with the bbbh boys (i missed the 1st session due to my weekend shift)
frankly speaking, like what xin min had said, they are really nice boys, just that they had gone on a wrong path. my buddy, jun ling, is a quite a quiet taurus and from our 1st interaction, he seems to be a well-behaved boy. the probs are probably he didnt really think much on the consequences when he does sth. And to be truthful, they are less vulgar than ns guys actually. hahaha!
We had high elements ytd, rope activities at the height of a normal 4th storey. It seems that my buddy was infamous for being afraid of heights and everyone who hears about my buddy told me to work really hard on encouraging him.
on the 1st rope course, the buddy n the volunteer had to hold onto each other while crossing two ropes with some small planks in between them in midair. jun ling was so afraid that he kept shivering and after 3 4 steps, we lost our balance n fell.
on the 2nd rope course, my buddy, due to the previous failure, was even more afraid and was reluctent to even go up to the obstacle. I kept persuading him to do so but he was still hesitating. (and i thought tats it..=() tom then came, after a few words, he ended up "ni3 zhe4 yang4 zi3 fang4 qi4, ni3 gan1 xin1 ma?"
the ni3 gan1 xin1 ma? is really impactful i must say. somehow it strikes into junling's emotions and he decided to give it a try. the 2nd rope course is basically 1 long rope for u to walk on, with some vertical ropes above u for u to hold on too. after jun ling had gone up, his phobia of heights strikes in again and this time he fell even earlier. =/ at the moment of time when he was lowered down to the ground, frankly speaking, i wanted to get down too. Whats the point of me crossing alone when i failed to assist my buddy to complete it?
"Whats the point of winning the battle when you had already lost the war?"
then tom shouted to me, telling me to continuue with the obstacle and after a few seconds of pondering, i decided to just complete it on my own. (apparently the people on the ground were impressed that i managed to complete it on my own. zhiyong said he was watching me doing that. chiki came n congratulated me on being able to complete it alone in a fast pace. mahlen? asked me to dance a victory dance before coming down.) but yeah, all i felt was just failure somehow.
after ytd's session, i learnt that, what matters really is teamwork, teamm success. So what if you alone can do superman acts? only winning the battle itself is pointless actually. the another thing is, i really nid to work hard on motivating skills. yeah. =/ any tips yining? :)
16 aug : Army half marathon 21km
This is the 1st marathon that i had ever run! I must say that other than the waking up at 3.30am to go to the race venue, it had been an enjoyable experience!
summary/impression of my 1st marathon:
a lot of people running together, with half of them listening to mp3 while running
at each certain distance, there will be a waterpoint with volunteers super busy in filling up paper cups with water (and occasionally 100 plus, one of the sponsors)
and at every waterpoint, there will be THOUSANDs of paper cups littered around it. (Great Singapore Litter)
some yaya people will be making phonecalls while running. (zhiyong n i were waiting for kaikeat who started 30 mins later. we called n smsed him quite a few times during the race and apparently 2 uncles recognised us in the middle of the race as the 2 guys who were so free to make calls during a marathon.) -.-
u can actually go msn with ur phone while running a marathon! too bad there really wasnt anyone online at 6+ am
To be continued..

58 more.
This is Clexane 0.4 ml, exonaparin sodium.
It is injected into the stomach area to improve the blood circulation situation and reduce numbness.
This is also the injection that I had been giving my grandma 2 times a day for the past 2 month plus, since according to my grandma, among my family members, my injections are the most endurable.
Little did i know that, together with my grandma's groan of pain, these small injections that i give slices a small portion of my heart each time. Now that it is bleeding profusely, i find myself increasingly reluctent to give the injection.
I hate seeing pain. This is the reason for me to not consider medicine at all. Seeing people in pain makes me feel like im the one experiencing it too. The feeling is so damn irritating.

just a random thought.
i think one of the saddest things in life must be being unable to give to the particular person a present that you have spent time in preparing.
this reminded me of a channel 8 drama, 团员饭, that was shown last year. haha.
there was a old couple who stayed in a hdb flat. the old husband was, most of the time, creating trouble, stealing stuff from the main leads' family. One day, the main leads (chen li ping etc) noticed a pungent smell coming out from the old couple's flat and after much persuasion, they managed to enter the unit. They then noticed the old wife sitting on a chair, already dead due to some illness. The old husband, then told the main leads their story.
The old couple has 3 sons. However after the sons got married and moved out of their parent's hse, they slowly stopped visiting their parents. Chinese new year's eve became the only occasion when they will gather every year. one of the years, the old couple, as usual, bought 1 can of abalone to prepare for the reunion dinner. however that particular year, the sons had some excuses and did not return. so the old couple decided to keep the abalone for the 2nd year.
on the 2nd year, the old couple bought a new can of abalone and reminded their sons about the dinner and demanded them to come back. however their sons disappointed them again. so the old couple decided to keep the can of abalone for the next year again.
on the 3rd year, the old wife started falling sick frequently and the old husband had to stay at home to look after her. With no income, the old husband resorted to stealing from their neighbours and eventually managed to buy a new can of abalone for the 3rd year. However, this year they could not contact the sons anymore and 2 days before the cny's eve, the old wife passed away. the old husband knows that their sons will never come back and with much sorrow and despair, he gave the 3 cans of abalones to the main leads' family as compensation. He then chased the main leads away, to stay and die with his dead wife.

ps: guess wat inspired me to writing this post today.

was quite a fun day today :) haha
though it feels like a sit test outside ns.
i think i was too garang and nearly to the extent of wayang though =/ (like wat i said, sit test -.-)
from what i analysed, i think jan shld be an aries. though leo n sagittaurus may be possible too haha. will be interesting to interact with an aries gal since aries are largely enthusiastic, outgoing and outspoken. theoretically when 2 aries meet, the end result will be an explosion, as both of them have so many energy and are those who will put random words into actions. hehe interesting.
ps: so disappointed when ning said she isnt an aries. =/
got to know a different side of ning too haha! the times when she were briefing us, giving advices etc. hahaha. so there IS a more serious side of ning afterall! hahaha! =P
n somehow at the start of the day, the leaders, victor, val and some others. were like
*pointing at me
"hey! this is the xiao hong"
*point point point point point point
-_-
i so wanna make it on 25 jul though =/
fun rest n relax day tmr :) wii party @ qq hse
